Overview

Dwayne Gibson is the Senior Counsel at Gibson & Associates.

His legal journey started in 1992, when he received his Bachelors of Law in Politics and Law (LLB) and the following year, his Masters of Law (LLM), in International & Commercial Law from the University of Buckingham Law School. He was called to the English Bar and admitted to The Honourable Society of Inner Temple in November 1993 and then called to the Bahamas Bar in December 1993.

Mr. Gibson began his pupillage at Dupuch and Turnquest & Co (1994) and later joined Higgs & Johnson (1995) and then Gwendolyn House (1996-1999) as an Associate, specializing in Civil and Commercial Litigation and Conveyancing and Real Estate. In 2000, Mr. Gibson became a partner at the law firm of Gibson, Rigby & Co. where his work expanded further to include Company Incorporation and Management, Employment and Industrial Relations, Intellectual Property, Wills and Estate Planning.

Since 2012, Mr. Gibson has led a team of highly competent and committed Associates under his own firm, Gibson & Associates. Mr. Gibson and his team consistently and competently provide solutions to their clientele with passion and resolve. Their key areas of practice are Conveyancing and Real Estate, Wills and Estate Planning together with Company Formation and Management. He has served as a Council Member of the Bahamas Bar Association for a period of 3 years.

In his personal time, Dwayne enjoys playing tennis, having served as a former Board Director of the National Tennis Centre (2012 and 2013) and member of the Bahamas Lawn Tennis Association since 2003 to this date.

Above all, Dwayne’s most fulfilling passion is his relationship with the Autistic Community, where he represents them as Chairman of the non-governmental organization, REACH (Resources and Education for Autism and Related Challenges), from 2014 to present. Mr. Gibson is excited about expanding the REACH network and continuing his personal and civic duties to help brighten the lives of those on the Autism Spectrum.
